Dodger pitcher Chan Ho Park has purchased a seven-bedroom home in Beverly Hills for about $2 million.

Park became the first player from South Korea in the major leagues in 1994, when he took the mound as a 20-year-old right-hander with the Dodgers. He was the team’s youngest player.

After two games, he was moved to the Dodgers’ minor league team in San Antonio, but at the end of the 1995 season, he was back with the Dodgers, where he signed a two-year contract at the beginning of the ’98 season.

Now one of the Dodgers’ top pitchers, Park is also a hero in South Korea, where travel packages to the U.S. have been designed to include “Take-Me-to-the-Chan-Ho Game” programs. In the fall of 1997, the Dodgers opened Dodgers Park, a store that sells Chan Ho souvenirs in L.A.’s Korea Town.

Built in 1985, Park’s new home, which is behind gates, has a gym, steam room, den and screening room in 7,000 square feet. The house is on slightly more than an acre with a pool, spa and waterfall.

Victor Kaminoff, director of architectural and unique properties for Coldwell Banker Previews, had the listing; Michael Lee of ERA New Star Realty represented Park.

The Studio City home of actor Roddy McDowall, who died in October at age 70, has come on the market at $1.3 million.

McDowall, who made the transition from child star to adult actor and enjoyed a six-decade career in movies and TV as well as on stage, was also a gifted photographer and a collector of vintage films and movie memorabilia. Among his many movies were “Lassie Come Home” (1941), with Elizabeth Taylor, and “Planet of the Apes,” three of its sequels and the TV series.

Taylor, one of McDowall’s closest friends, was one of the numerous celebrities he entertained at his home, which he owned for 26 years.

“It was a mecca for almost all of Hollywood,” said Lee Winkler, McDowall’s business manager. “He had huge Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings and parties every month.”

The home, in a neighborhood known as Fryman Estates, was built in 1952 and has four bedrooms plus maid’s quarters and a separate two-bedroom guest suite. The nearly 5,000-square-foot house also has a media room with a bar. The grounds have rose gardens, meandering pathways, a hot tub and a pool.

The English-style home is listed with Kathy Villa of Asher Dann & Associates, a division of Coldwell Banker-Jon Douglas Co., Beverly Hills.

Hall of Famer Bill Sharman, former president of the Lakers, and his wife, Joyce, have listed their Rancho Palos Verdes home at just under $1.6 million.

“I’m from the East Coast, but I’ve been here 17 years, since we’ve been married, and I need to go back,” Joyce Sharman said. Her mother lives on the East Coast.

“We plan to have a home there and a smaller one with less yard here,” she added. “Then we will be able to close the doors easily and go back and forth.”

The basketball legend, 72, will continue to be a consultant to the Lakers, a post he has held since 1991. He played as a guard for the Boston Celtics for 10 seasons, retiring to become a coach in 1961. He coached the Lakers in the ‘70s, then served as the team’s general manager and president.

The Sharmans’ home was built in the ‘60s and was remodeled when they bought it in 1996. It has four bedrooms and an entertainment-media room in about 4,000 square feet. The gated 1.13-acre grounds also have a tennis court, spa, orchard and views of the L.A. Harbor and the Vincent Thomas Bridge. Marion Busia of RE/MAX, Palos Verdes Realty has the listing.

Spellbound Pictures co-founders Mark McClafferty, former president of Eddie Murphy Television, and his wife, Pamela Edwards McClafferty, have listed their country English-style home in the Beverly Hills area at just under $1.7 million.

The couple produced the movie “The Climb,” starring William Hurt. It is due out in March.

The McClaffertys put their home of 10 years on the market because they are starting pre-production on another film, and they plan to spend more time on the East Coast and in Europe.

Built in 1932, the gated home has four bedrooms, a den, library and sun room in 4,000 square feet. The home also has a pool and views of the ocean, mountains, valleys and canyons. Marilyn Watson of Celebrity Properties, Beverly Hills, has the listing.
