What Did You Eat for Dinner Last Night?

“I had dinner at the home of the British consul general, Paul Dimond. It was very well-presented and very good. We had smoked salmon terrine with a lemon horseradish vinaigrette--it was a secret recipe of the chef--and beef tenderloin with cranberry-mushroom sauce, new potatoes, some fresh garden vegetables and the dessert was a fresh fruit sabayon. There were two very good wines, a Cabernet and Chardonnay.

“What was nice about it was that rather than one long table, there were several tables of four, and the men moved around after the main course.”
