The Jewish National Fund of Orange County-Long Beach will have its fifth annual Walk for Israel at Mason Regional Park in Irvine on May 2. Dr. Wendy Groner Strauss, a board member who headed last year’s walk, will again serve as chairwoman.

The 1999 walk will feature “Journey to the Promised Land,” with stops along the route at learning stations where young walkers will be able to enrich their knowledge of Israel.

“We hope every member of the Jewish community in Orange County-Long Beach will participate in this wonderful day,” said Jerry Kaufman, the organization’s regional president. “This is a special opportunity for members of the various schools, synagogues and Jewish organizations to get together for some old-fashioned exercise, good fellowship and a common goal: raise important funds for the state of Israel.”
