School Expansion
* Strictly out of curiosity, I attended a meeting at the Hillcrest Christian School in Granada Hills. The school is one block down the street from my home. I was hit between the eyes with a plan that would not only double the size of the existing school, but totally disrupt the neighborhood as well. This is a quiet residential area that has been my home for over 22 years.
The plan that was presented consisted of a collection of multistory buildings and a football stadium less than a block from my home. The school presented details consisting of architectural drawings and financial pledges to finance the $12-million plan.
It looks like they are planning on ramming this project through in spite of the concerns of those of us who call this area our home.
I believe the desire to expand the school has clouded their good judgment and will affect the safety and quality of daily life of the whole neighborhood.
