Irish Reveries

What a pleasant way to rekindle recent memories (“Season of Solitude in Inishmore,” Jan. 24)! My husband, Sam, and I spent two weeks in Ireland last May. We were fortunate to have experienced both the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland, and were right in Belfast the day of the historic referendum. We also visited Inishmore island.
The biggest coincidence in reading Jeanette Baker’s article, however, was to discover that we shared the same escorts: Pat Connelly and Brownie the pony. Patrick’s warmth, wit and wonderful stories contributed to making our trip extra special.
