Policing Buses

Share

Before the MTA puts one more new bus on the street I feel it should make an honest effort to clean up the buses it currently owns. You do not see filthy, graffiti-filled buses in other cities.

Last fall I read in The Times that the LAPD did an undercover operation that netted 70 people doing vandalism to the buses, on one day of undercover work. Why don’t they do it every day for a month and randomly after that to keep the buses clean? The fines that they would collect and damage they would prevent would pay for the undercover operation.

I shed a tear every time I see a new bus with a scratched windows. Get some civic pride, Los Angeles. Let’s put on the face of the world-class city that we are.
