Airline Employees

* Re “An Idea That Could Take Off,” editorial, Feb. 10:

I propose an Airline Employee Bill of Rights. The purpose will be to protect us from passengers who scream profanities when they miss a flight, or become irate when they change flights and can’t understand there is a fare change, or demand to be put on another carrier when they are told their flight is canceled because the airport of their destination is closed because of weather, or insist on compensation when their flight is delayed because of a mechanical reason, or can’t comprehend the reason airlines oversell flights is that 5% to 40% of passengers don’t show up for their flights, or are appalled to pay as much to fly on a $50-million aircraft supported by a billion-dollar safety network as they would to go to a concert or play a round of golf.

This proposal wouldn’t protect us from Arizona politicians running for the presidency, though.
