SMTEK Acquires Technetics in San Diego

SMTEK International in Thousand Oaks has completed the acquisition of Technetics Inc., an electronics manufacturing services provider in San Diego, for cash and notes payable.

Technetics provides services to high-end commercial and military customers. SMTEK has appointed Michael E. Perry as president of the newly acquired company.

Gregory L. Horton, SMTEK chairman and chief executive officer, said the acquisition will allow his company to become a stronger presence in the San Diego area.

“SMTEK’s Thousand Oaks operation will enhance Technetics’ complement of services by providing additional engineering, test and design capabilities,” he said.

SMTEK serves original equipment manufacturers in the computer, telecommunications, instrumentation, medical, industrial and aerospace industries.
