Russo Elected to Xircom Board of Directors

Xircom Inc. in Thousand Oaks announced that Carl Russo has been elected to its board of directors.

Russo, 42, is president, chief executive officer and member of the board of directors of Cerent Corp., a manufacturer of optical transport systems for public networks. Until May, he was executive vice president and chief operating officer of Xircom.

Before joining Xircom in 1995, Russo was senior vice president and general manager at Network Systems Corp., a manufacturer of network communications devices.

Xircom makes PC card products to connect portable computer users to corporate networks, the Internet and other online resources.
