Official Blames Israel for Killings
The secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council accused Israel of masterminding a spate of dissident killings and other violence to destabilize Iran. Mohsen Rezaei said Israel also provoked an attack on a bus carrying U.S. businessmen in Tehran in November to disrupt any normalization in relations between Tehran and Washington. Rezaei said Israeli agents had manipulated an Iranian secret policeman into organizing the killing of dissident Dariush Foruhar. Foruhar, his wife and two liberal writers were killed last year. Officials have announced the arrest of 10 people, including Intelligence Ministry agents, in connection with the slayings.
