In another WSC tennis match:

Glendale 5, Santa Barbara City 4--Kitt Boodsayuskul defeated Leo Huerta, 6-1, 6-4, in the last match to lift host Glendale (3-0, 1-0) over Santa Barbara (2-3, 0-1).

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Cal State Northridge 80, Eastern Washington 58--Lynda Amari scored 25 points and reserve LaShaunda Fowler added a career-high 19 to help the host Matadors (16-7, 10-3) beat Eastern Washington (7-16, 4-9) and remain in a three-way tie for first place in the Big Sky Conference with Portland State and Montana State.

Edniesha Curry, Northridge’s leading scorer, played only nine minutes after dislocating a finger on her left, nonshooting hand.

BASEBALL

Pierce 3, Moorpark 1--Reliever Travis Rutter rescued the Brahmas from a two-out, bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the eighth inning to pick up his first save in a Mt. San Antonio College tournament game.

Traviss Hodge hit a run-scoring triple in the sixth inning for Pierce (3-4), before scoring the go-ahead run on a wild pitch.

Steve Nelson hit a home run in the third inning, his second of the season, for Moorpark (7-3).

Southern California College 10, The Master’s 9--Chris Kollmor drove in two runs with three hits for host Master’s in a nonconference game called after eight innings because of darkness.

SOFTBALL

Cal State Northridge 5, Iowa State 4--Jessica Creith had a two-run triple for Northridge (1-2) in a pool-play game of the San Diego State tournament.

Iowa State scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning to pull within 5-4, but the game was called because of a time limit.
