Actor Ernie Hudson, who is in his third season playing the prison warden in the HBO series “Oz” and who will portray Michael Jordan’s father in the Fox Family Channel movie “Michael Jordan: An American Hero,” and his wife, Linda, have purchased a Bell Canyon home for more than $1 million.

Hudson, 53, gained fame in “Ghostbusters” and “Ghostbusters II” before he appeared in such movies as “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle” (1992), “The Basketball Diaries” (1995) and “Congo” (1996). The Jordan telefilm airs on April 18.

The actor bought a Georgian-style home with six bedrooms, a library and exercise room in 5,500 square feet. The 1.5-acre grounds have canyon views, a basketball court and parking for up to 30 cars. Bell Canyon is in Ventura County, just over the L.A. County border.

Hudson sold his Running Springs retreat for about $500,000 and listed his Hidden Hills home, with five bedrooms and four fireplaces in 5,000 square feet, at about $1.4 million. The Tudor-style home, on slightly more than an acre with valley views, has a pool and game room with a sauna and steam room.

Hudson, who films “Oz” in New York, decided to sell his other homes and buy in Bell Canyon to consolidate his residences because he travels for work so much.

The Hidden Hills home is listed with Marc Shevin of Coldwell Banker, Woodland Hills.
