Mixed Bag: The federal government today will issue three reports that are likely to be a mixed bag, economically speaking. The Labor Department will report on first-time jobless claims for the week ended Feb. 20, which are expected to rise slightly. A Commerce Department report will show factory orders cooled off in January. And the National Assn. of Realtors is expected to report that home sales dropped a bit in January.

Film Market: The annual American Film Market, where buyers from around the globe gather to license films for their movie theaters, TV channels and home video stores, starts today in Santa Monica. The event runs through March 5.
