From Times Wire Reports

Greece said it put its defense forces on a higher state of alert at its borders with Turkey after a series of angry statements from Ankara over Greece harboring Kurdish rebel leader Abdullah Ocalan. A government spokesman said Greece does not expect any incidents but was simply taking precautions. Turkey has called for Greece to be classified as “an outlaw state.” Turkish commandos captured Ocalan in Kenya last week and took him back to Turkey. He has been charged with treason in connection with a Kurdish armed campaign for self-rule.
