OXNARD — Laurie Levenson, an associate dean at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and a legal commentator for television and newspapers, will speak on privacy rights at a luncheon today at Channel Islands Harbor.
Levenson will give a speech titled “Right to Privacy . . . Is There Any Left” at the seventh annual luncheon of the Women’s Division of United Jewish Appeal/Federation of Western Ventura County.
The event, which will be held at the Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club on Harbor Boulevard, starts with a social hour at 11 a.m. followed by a lunch at noon.
“She is well-known in the legal field and is a wonderful speaker,” said Eleanor Richman, a federation spokeswoman.
Levenson, a professor at Loyola and its associate dean for academic affairs, has provided legal commentary on a number of cases, including the O.J. Simpson and Menendez trials.
The public is invited to the luncheon. The cost is $36 a person and tickets can be purchased at the door.
The yacht club is at 2600 S. Harbor Blvd.
