Richardson to Speak at CSUN

Dot Richardson, the shortstop on the U.S. softball team that won the gold medal at the 1998 Olympics in Atlanta, will speak and sign autographs Sunday afternoon following the 2 p.m. game of the Matador Invitational at Cal State Northridge.
Admission is free to any youth who plays on a Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Dept. softball team.
SOCCER
Jason Leonard, an All-Western State Conference sweeper at Moorpark College the last two seasons, has signed to play at Cal State Bakersfield, an NCAA Division II power.
Erin Misaki, a midfielder at Hart High and the region’s best girls’ player, has been selected an All-American by Parade magazine.
Misaki, who helped Hart advance to the Southern Section Division I final in 1997 and the semifinals last season, has signed with Portland.
Bonnie Bornhauser of Camarillo High is the offensive player of the year and Emerald Nixon of Channel Islands is the defensive player of the year in the Pacific View League.
BASKETBALL
Tony Hoggatts of Glendale College and Alofa Tuimoloau of Moorpark were selected WSC men’s and women’s players of the week, respectively.
Hoggatts, a sophomore forward, scored 39 points in two Glendale victories. He had 16 assists and 11 rebounds in the two games.
Tuimoloau, a sophomore from Channel Islands, scored 36 points in two Moorpark victories.
SOFTBALL
El Camino Real will hold its alumni game at 10 a.m. Saturday.
