In “More at Stake Than the Final Score” (Feb. 19), Judith I. Brennan wrote about the TNT movie “Passing Glory,” which depicts the true story of New Orleans’ St. Augustine High School and Father Joseph Verrett, who wished to play, during segregation times, against an all-white Catholic school in Louisiana.
Brennan incorrectly referred to Verrett as a Jesuit priest. He is a Josephite. St. Augustine High School was founded by the Society of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for the development and education of African American males. The Josephites are spiritually committed to the ministry of African Americans.
