Teasley Leads North Carolina

Nikki Teasley scored 20 points, including five free throws in the final 2:06, to lead No. 6 North Carolina to an 87-76 win over No. 10 Clemson on Monday night at Chapel Hill, N.C.

North Carolina, 17-1 overall and 4-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, went the final 9:12 without a field goal but made 22 of 26 free throws in that span to hold on for its 18th straight home victory.

Natasha Anderson led Clemson (11-2, 2-2) with 21 points. Itoro Umoh added 12, all in the second half, and Amy Geren and Erin Batth scored 10 points each as Clemson lost its second straight after an 11-0 start.

No. 14 Virginia Tech 76, Dayton 59--Tere Williams scored 22 points and Lisa Witherspoon had a career-high 13 assists for the Hokies in an Atlantic 10 game at Blacksburg, Va.

Virginia Tech (13-0, 3-0) pulled away from Dayton (5-6, 1-1) with a 13-5 run that gave the Hokies a 34-15 lead with about five minutes left in the first half.

No. 13 Duke 84, No. 22 Virginia 68--Hilary Howard scored 20 points and Michele VanGorp had 16 points, five rebounds and two blocked shots in an Atlantic Coast Conference game at Durham, N.C.

Georgia Schweitzer scored 14 and Peppi Browne added 11 for the Blue Devils (10-4, 3-0), who won their sixth straight game.

Erin Stovall scored 25 points for the Cavaliers (8-4, 2-1).
