The best way to serve soup is to ladle it at the table right out of the pot or soup tureen into warmed soup bowls. To warm the bowls, place them in a 200-degree oven for 10 minutes or fill the bowls with hot water and let them sit for 2 minutes.

Once first servings are ladled out, put the remaining soup back on the stove to simmer for second helpings.
