For 10 years, Colleen Braga worked through mortgage claims, brokered bank loans and solicited investors. Her life in the banking industry, she said, was self-serving. Now, Braga said, she is serving others.

Last week, she was appointed executive director of the Placentia Boys & Girls Club after being on staff for two years. Braga, who also worked at the Boys Club of Santa Ana before coming to Placentia, said she plans to improve the appearance of the club, increase program offerings and work closely with the school district, community groups and families of club participants.

Plans are underway to introduce tutoring programs, parenting classes and computer training.
