A Matter of Attributions in ‘Godfather’

For the record, Susan King’s article contained several attribution errors in its quotation section.

For instance:

* Michael says, “It’s business, not personal” to Tom Hagen, not to his wife, Kay.

* “In five years the Corleone family will be completely legitimate” is a line spoken by Michael to Kay, not the Don to Michael.

* Peter Clemenza tells Rocco Lampone to “Leave the gun. Take the cannoli” after Lampone kills Paulie Gatto, not after Clemenza shoots Lampone--an event that never occurs in either the movie or the novel.

Yes, Ms. King, you are correct--it is a guy thing.
