Cult Members’ Kin Play Waiting Game
Fourteen members of a doomsday group deported from Israel were holed up in Denver hotel rooms, as relatives waited anxiously, hoping for some form of contact. Mark Roggeman, a Denver police officer who studies cults, believes that the 14 probably already have contacted their leader, Monte Kim Miller, 44, who has tight control over the Concerned Christians. His whereabouts are unknown. The members arrived in Denver on Saturday after being deported from Israel, where they were accused of plotting attacks to hasten the return of Jesus.
