After an engagement period of 70 years, they are finally tying the knot.

Not Oprah Winfrey and her long, long, longtime beau Stedman Graham. We speak of Popeye the Sailorman and the very bony Olive Oyl. Popeye’s people confirm that he and Olive are to be wed next month. February is, after all, the month of love. The nuptials will take place in Popeye’s comic book, where their engagement started in 1929. At the rate they’re going, we probably won’t see their first child until 2069.

No word yet on whether Ms. Oyl will take her husband’s name (Olive the Sailorman) or hyphenate (Olive Oyl-the Sailorman).
