The La Habra Library has begun the new year under a new branch manager, Joy Johnson. Johnson, who succeeded Julie Fredericksen, transferred from the smaller La Palma branch of the county library system, where she had served for 1 1/2 years.

She said she is looking forward to leading the library into 1999 with projects that include moving in six new Internet terminals by summer and helping the Friends of the La Habra Library plan how to spend $10,000 donated last month.
