Magnolia 60, Anaheim 45--Freshman Geoffrey Clayton scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half as Magnolia outscored visiting Anaheim, 41-14.

In the Empire League:

Katella 63, El Dorado 60--Ryan Carlos scored 12 of his 25 points in El Dorado’s 17-9 run in the fourth quarter. Richard Nagy (25 points) missed a three-pointer that bounced off the rim at the buzzer for El Dorado. Robert Abercrombie scored 27 points for Katella (13-5, 1-1).

No. 8 Loara 62, Kennedy 44--Senior Wes Wardrop scored 20 points and his sophomore brother Ben Wardrop had 18 as the host Saxons (16-2, 2-0) cruised. Herbert Gracia scored 18 points for Loara.

In the Garden Grove League:

Bolsa Grande 76, Rancho Alamitos 59--Jon James scored 34 points, including eight straight in the fourth quarter during a 14-0 Bolsa Grande run to break open a close game. James had 13 rebounds for Bolsa Grande (9-9, 2-2).

Garden Grove 45, Santiago 43--Roland Quach scored 19 of his 24 points in the second half for Garden Grove, which trailed, 37-29, after three quarters.

In the Golden West League:

No. 9 Tustin 69, Servite 50--Center D’Angelo Collins finished with 19 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots for the Tillers (13-5, 2-1). Kenny Crabb had 10 points and seven assists for Tustin.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Estancia 65, Aliso Niguel 52--John Cantrell scored 15 of his 21 points on three-pointers and Brett Valbuena scored 20 points, including 11 in the third quarter when Estancia (9-9, 2-0) outscored visiting Aliso Niguel 25-9 to take a 13-point lead.

Laguna Beach 49, Laguna Hills 44--Jesse Obrand scored 18 points and Kurt Beimfohr had 14 for Laguna Beach.

In the Sea View League:

No. 3 Santa Margarita 47, Irvine 45--Santa Margarita’s Spencer Gloger stole the ball at midcourt and scored an uncontested layup as time expired. Gloger scored 19 points for the Eagles (15-2, 2-0).

No. 4 Newport Harbor 58, El Toro 51--Matt Jameson scored 18 points and Dustin Illingworth had 16 for visiting Newport Harbor. Jameson scored nine points, including a half-court three-pointer at the first-quarter buzzer, in the Sailors’ 22-8 first-quarter run.

Corona del Mar 56, Woodbridge 42--Dennis Alshuler made four of five free throws down the stretch and scored 17 points for Corona del Mar (14-4, 2-0), the top-ranked team in Division III-A.

In the South Coast League:

No. 1 Mater Dei 84, Mission Viejo 38--Cedric Bozeman scored 18 points, Derrick Mansell had 12 points and seven rebounds and Mike Bayer had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Mater Dei (17-2). The Monarchs went on a 25-9 run in the first quarter.

No. 2 Capistrano Valley 52, Dana Hills 39--Mark Earnest scored 12 points, all on three-pointers, and Mike Stowell had 14 points and eight rebounds for Capistrano Valley (15-3, 2-1).

San Clemente 81, Trabuco Hills 60--Mitch Pierce had 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for San Clemente, which was 17 for 21 from the floor in the second half. Effrain Martinez scored 13 points for the host Tritons (13-5, 2-1).
