Motion Picture Academy Accepting Entries for Its Student Competition

Share

Applications will be accepted through April 1 for the 26th annual Student Academy Awards competition, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Categories include alternative, animation, documentary and narrative.

One winning film in each category will be chosen from each of three regions (the local region encompasses Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Washington and Wyoming); all three films will ultimately be screened at the academy’s headquarters in Beverly Hills and voted upon by the academy membership--the same body that votes onthe annual Oscar-winning films.

To be eligible, films must be 16-millimeter or larger, produced within an accredited college or university, and completed after April 1, 1998.
