YMCA to Kick Off Annual Fund-Raiser

The actor best know as Tim Allen’s partner Al Borland on the TV sitcom “Home Improvement” will be guest speaker at the 1999 Ventura Family YMCA Annual dinner in February, launching the organization’s fund-raising campaign.

Richard Karn, who is also a spokesman for the Orchard Supply Hardware chain, will speak at the YMCA’s “Building a Dream” dinner on Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. at the Pierpont Inn in Ventura.

Proceeds from the dinner will be used to start a Y-teen center, offer scholarships for after-school child care and youth fitness programs.
