INTERFAITH COMMEMORATION: Los Angeles Mission College, 13356 Eldridge Ave., Sylmar, will present “Living the Dream” to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the Campus Center. LECTURE ON LUBAVITCHER REBBE: Conejo Jewish Academy, 30345 Canwood St., Agoura Hills, will host a lecture by Rabbi Laibel Groner titled “The Lubavitcher Rebbe--A Light Unto the Nations” at 8 p.m. Tuesday. The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor in 1995 for his contribution to world education, morality and acts of charity. FAMILY SHABBAT DINNER: Temple Beth Haverim, 5126 Clareton Drive, Agoura Hills, will present “Jewish Spirituality--What Is It Anyway?” by speaker Marlene Adler Marks at 6 p.m. Friday. Marks was managing editor of the Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles for nearly a decade and has a syndicated column. In 1992, she was named the first Hadassah Woman of Achievement. SERVICE HONORING KING: Temple Aliyah, 6025 Valley Circle Blvd., Woodland Hills, will honor the memory of Martin Luther King Jr. with a special gospel choir during Erev Shabbat Services at 8:15 p.m. Friday. The choir from Christ Memorial Church of God in Christ in Pacoima will sing spiritual, but not religious, songs of hope, unity, peace and affirmation. Free. Information: (818) 346-3545.
