Snap to Introduce High-Speed Directory

Share

San Francisco-based Snap, the fledgling Internet portal site owned by NBC and CNet Inc., plans to introduce an online directory that will cater to people with high-speed connections to the Internet. The Cyclone service will showcase multimedia content such as video and audio, which clog ordinary online connections but move swiftly over increasingly popular high-speed data lines. As part of the venture, GTE, Bell Atlantic and other companies will market co-branded versions of Cyclone to customers with digital subscriber line connections.
