“I was at a retrospective tasting of early Joseph Swan Zinfandels and I loved the 1974, though I hadn’t remembered it being one of my favorites when it was released. It was so beautifully balanced and had aged so marvelously. It was a great example of how well a fine Zinfandel can age over a 25-year period. Most people enjoy Zins during the first six years, but this wine was a reminder of how much fruit and sweetness can remain in a well-made wine from a great vintage.”
