Wondering how to interpret your newborn’s various cries? Have questions about household hazards? Curious about infant massage?

The NuParenting program, created by the Children’s Bureau of Southern California, offers eight-week classes to parents of children 6 months and younger. In addition to basics like diapering and bath time, the class delves into creating a lifetime bond with your child, development of a child’s brain and building on the skills your parents taught you.

The program--aimed at parents from all walks of life--is offered in English and Spanish in more than 25 locations in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. In the San Fernando Valley, classes are currently held in Northridge and North Hollywood, with additional classes planned this spring in Sylmar and Van Nuys.
