Lying

I seem to remember that some time ago the U.S. denied that there were spies in the Iraqi weapons reporting team. Now it appears that there were indeed (editorial, Jan. 12). This means that the government lied, right? Maybe not under oath, but morally the same. Maybe Americans are so used to being lied to by the government that they accept this as the norm and thus are not too upset with Clinton’s “untruths” about sex.
