Dogs’ Needs
We may think the dog is man’s best friend, but the dog does not consider man his best friend. He prefers another dog.
Instead of an antidepressant pill for the lonely pooch (letter, Jan. 20), coupled with a guilt trip for the absentee owner, the obvious answer is a real pal--another dog.
Your dog won’t be fussy. A Great Dane will love a teacup-size Pomeranian, but a different sex would be appreciated for greater congeniality. Any pack animal prefers the company of his own kind to yours. Sorry about that.
