ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

FileNet Corp.: The Costa Mesa document management software company posted a net loss of $424,000, or 1 cent a share, for the fourth quarter, which included a charge of $2 million for restructuring and other costs. For the corresponding period in 1997, the company earned $5.9 million, or 18 cents a share. Revenue rose 11% to a record $85.1 million from $76.4 million.

Net income for 1998 totaled $956,000, or 3 cents a share, contrasted with a net loss of $5.5 million, or 18 cents a share, for 1997, which included a $6 million restructuring charge. Revenue was up 23% to $310.2 million from $251.4 million.
