A nonprofit agency will ask planning commissioners for a permit to build more homes than zoning allows at a site on Hewes Street and Marmon Avenue because all would be rented to low-income families.
At a public hearing Monday, Commissioners will consider allowing the Orange Housing Development Corp. to build six units on the site. Zoning would limit the group to building four homes, but city codes allow for extra buildings if they are considered affordable housing. The nonprofit said all the homes would be rented to low-income families. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 300 E. Chapman Ave. Information: (714) 744-7220.
