UC Santa Barbara’s connections from the region connected all right--at the expense of the Cal State Northridge baseball team.

Former Crespi High standout Chris Crawley had two hits, scored two runs and drove in two runs and Santa Barbara scored 10 runs in the first three innings en route to a 12-3 victory over the Matadors in a nonconference game Thursday at Santa Barbara.

Bryan LaCour (Chatsworth High), who scored two runs, and Jeff Bannon (Camarillo), who scored once, each had one hit in the Gauchos’ 13-hit attack. Dave Molidor led Santa Barbara (1-0) with two hits, including a home run, and three runs batted in.
