Sizzling or Fizzling?

Max Jacobson and I had vastly different experiences at the Cafe Tu Tu Tango (“Tu Tu Tango Offers Lots of Sizzle, Look at Future,” Calendar Weekend, Jan. 21).

The Spanish antipasto was not “huge” but rather meager, with a few paper-thin slices of chorizo and an even more sparse portion of Manchego cheese, three extremely small pieces which had seen better days.

Further, although no dish might take more than eight minutes to prepare, as Jacobson said, we waited 45 minutes for our first dish to arrive, while numerous servers kept asking, “Is this your calamari? Is this your lamb?”

Jacobson is dead on when he says that none of the food would pass muster in a Madrid tapas bar. My observation: Don’t come hungry and don’t plan on catching the movie. The paintings are for sale, however.
