Vietnam Memorial

July 1-5

A 240-foot replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D. C., will be on exhibit at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village. There will be an opening ceremony at 6 p.m. July 1, dedication at 11 a.m. July 3 and closing candlelight ceremony at 8 p.m. July 5. The wall will be available for viewing 24 hours a day. Free. Music and Stars

Saturday, July 3

The Olivas Adobe will open its Music Under the Stars series with a concert by Little Jonny & the Giants at 7 p.m. at 4200 Olivas Park Drive, Ventura. Pops Concert

Street Fair

Chili and Cars

Sunday, July 4

The 13th annual Sespe Creek Chili Cook Off and Car Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Fillmore. More than 300 street rods and custom and classic vehicles will be shown and 50 chili cooks will prepare their specialties. Flying Fourth

Ojai will celebrate the holiday with a day of festivities July 5. Activities will begin on Ojai Avenue with a Lions Club breakfast from 6 to 10 a.m., a children’s Freedom Run at 9 a.m. and a parade from Country Club Drive to Sarzotti Park at 10 a.m. There will be food booths, contests and other family activities at the park at 11:30 a.m. A fireworks show and concert will begin with music at 5 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. at Nordhoff High School; $4 advance, $6 at the gate general, $2 children. Ojai Band

Wednesday, July 7

The Ojai Band will open its summer series with a concert from 8 to 9:30 p.m. at the Libbey Park bandstand on Ojai Avenue between Signal and Montgomery streets. Preservation Jazz

Monday, July 12

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Black Lot Theatre, 1408 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. The seven-member New Orleans ensemble has toured the world for 25 years, performing at venues such as Carnegie Hall and Boston’s Symphony Hall. Camarillo Fiesta

July 16-18

The Camarillo Fiesta and Street Fair--featuring a carnival, chili cook-off, classic car show and plenty of live music--will be held in the Old Town section on Ventura Boulevard. Obon Festival

Wind Concert
