ANAHEIM
The Anaheim Achieves Collaboration, a consortium of community groups and educators, recently received more than $2 million from the California Department of Education to develop after-school enrichment programs. The Anaheim YMCA, Anaheim City School District and the Magnolia School District, along with the city of Stanton, were notified earlier this month that they collectively received a $2,047,000 state grant for the “After School Learning and Safe Neighborhoods Partnership Program,” to begin in the fall.
The program seeks to provide students in kindergarten through sixth grade with a safe place to study and learn after school. Anaheim Family YMCA will oversee project management and provide on-site program coordination. The Anaheim City School District will track academic performance among program participants.
