(Dow Jones)

VitalCom Inc. said Friday that its second-quarter revenue decreased to $3.5 million from $5.4 million a year ago, leading to a “material loss” for the period.

The Tustin company attributed the revenue decline to a change in sales strategy by a large customer. VitalCom also warned that revenue could be lower in the third and fourth quarters as customers delay contracts while reviewing its new offering of products.

The company, which provides communication networks for health-care facilities, had revenue of $4.7 million in the third quarter and $5.6 million in the fourth quarter a year ago.
