Lessons to Be Learned From Finals: Part II

Share

For years now, the Kings have been feeding us the line that they are not going to trade away promising draft picks but are going to develop the youth. The trade for Ziggy Palffy contradicted everything they have been saying. They gave away promising young talent and picks for a player they say is a big name. Most of the people who go to Kings games will hear the name Ziggy and think they are talking about a cute little guy on a greeting card who has some terrible luck.

Did the Kings not watch the Cup finals? Did they not see Darryl Sydor (an important part of the Dallas defense) kiss the cup? Did they miss the hard, tough play of Alex Zhitnik? These are two players the Kings gave up on before they reached their prime. Just in case they missed the NHL awards, Byron Dafoe was nominated for the Vezina Trophy.

Will they ever learn?
