July 9, 1972: Nolan Ryan pitched a one-hitter with 16 strikeouts in a 3-0 victory over Boston. Ryan struck out the side in the second inning on nine pitches.

July 9, 1980: Bobby Grich tied a club record, going five for five in a 14-inning, 5-4 victory over Oakland.

July 10, 1973: Lee Stanton hit three home runs in a 10-8 victory over Baltimore.

July 11, 1967: The Angels host their first All-Star game. The National League’s 2-1 victory in 15 innings is the longest game in All-Star history.
