At its monthly study session Monday, the City Council discussed the cost of changing the city’s logo from “Hub of the Harbor Area” to “City of the Arts.” Councilwoman Linda Dixon proposed the change in February when the council adopted its 1999-2000 community objectives. The estimated cost of changing the logo is $25,441, according to staff reports. The cost would include installing new city decals on vehicles, purchasing large bronze city seals and purchasing new plates for printing. Initial costs would be less than $2,000. Three designs for the city logo have also been proposed. The change could be completed by January.
