WESTMINSTER
Mayor Frank Fry Jr. will unveil a model of his proposed Vietnam memorial after Tuesday’s City Council meeting. The memorial, which features a Vietnamese and an American soldier, was recently criticized by the Vietnamese consul general. Volunteers and the Westminster Foundation for the Arts are raising funds for the $500,000 monument. No city money is involved, but the city will be asked to donate public property for the monument and to maintain it as one of the city’s Millennium projects.
