NEWPORT BEACH
The City Council voted unanimously this week to award $380,000 in grants to three groups working toward building a commercial airport at the retired El Toro Marine Corps Air Station. The grants--$200,000 for Citizens for Jobs and the Economy, $150,000 to the Airport Working Group and $30,000 to the Orange County Airport Alliance--are part of the city’s support for an airport at El Toro.
