First-Place Bullfrogs Host Woolf, San Jose

Mark Woolf, who helped the Bullfrogs win their third league title last season, returns to the Arrowhead Pond tonight as the leading scorer for the San Jose Rhinos for a 7 p.m. Roller Hockey International game.

Woolf has 11 goals and 11 assists for the Rhinos (7-2-2), who are in third place in RHI’s Western Division, six points behind the first-place Bullfrogs (10-1-2).

Anaheim has won six in a row. Winger Hugo Belanger, third in the RHI in scoring, leads the Bullfrogs with 21 goals and 27 assists.

The teams have played each other tough this season. San Jose defeated the Bullfrogs, 5-4, in the season opener in Anaheim and won in a shootout, 12-11, in San Jose.

The Bullfrogs won, 7-6, in a shootout at San Jose Saturday when goaltender Rob Laurie stopped all five penalty shots in overtime, including one by Woolf.
