Richard Foster, an attorney in Irvine and the only person to be elected president of U.S. Water Polo for three terms, will be among 14 inducted into the U.S. Water Polo Hall of Fame Saturday at the Doubletree Hotel in Irvine.

Foster, a former water polo player at Long Beach State, will also receive the U.S. Water Polo award, which is the highest honor awarded by the sport’s national governing body.

Others to be inducted include former Olympian Greg Boyer of Laguna Beach, former Canyon High coach Stan Sprague, who is currently an assistant at Long Beach Wilson and involved with Junior Olympic water polo, and Long Beach State Coach Ken Lindgren.

The other inductees: Jane Hale, Janice Krauser, Ed Reed, Bill Harris, Sandy Nitta, Terry Schroeder, Craig Wilson, Andy Haberman, Jim Slatton and the late Steve Heaston.
