Anniversary of U.S. Invasion Is Marked

Thousands of Puerto Ricans commemorated the 101st anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Puerto Rico and 47 years as a free associated state of the United States. They gathered in Guanica, where U.S. soldiers invaded the Spanish colony on July 25, 1898. People who want Puerto Rico to become the 51st U.S. state marked the day as a celebration.
