Death Toll Reaches 11 in Scorching Heat

A Midwest heat wave that topped the 90-degree mark for a seventh consecutive day was a factor in five deaths in the Cincinnati area Sunday, bringing the weekend death toll to seven, the Hamilton County, Ohio, coroner’s office said. Four Chicago deaths have been blamed on the heat since Thursday. The five Ohio victims were overcome in their homes, officials said.
