Helping Students

Why just complain about student performance? Why not do something about it? Schools need to start encouraging parent involvement through family-oriented activities and make tutoring programs more available to those students who need help. Some schools have even instituted mentor programs, and other schools should certainly follow their lead.

Maybe, just maybe, this would give LAUSD something to brag about. Maybe, just maybe, it would raise test scores, but who knows--you can never know for sure until you try.
